Jesus said, “Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.”  (John 3:14–15) Christ is “lifted up” both on the cross and his ascension into glory (the same Greek word is used in both cases). When we look up to Christ in faith we find healing that is eternal.
