Welcome back! We’re winding down our Windows Wednesday series with the final windows in the Sanctuary. Today, we are looking at Balcony Window B—Man’s Love for God. This window illustrates mankind’s interaction with the Holy Spirit today.
At the top, we see the Holy Spirit descending from the clouds in the form of a dove, accompanied by trumpets. The middle section of the window show a family entering the door of a church, surrounded by individuals praying. There is a censer below them, the smoke of incense wafting upwards. This, as seen in other windows, is another symbol for prayer. At the bottom, we see rejoicing, with a guitar player and a harp representing the psalms. In all this, we see music represented as a connection with the Holy Spirit and a joyful method of praising God.
This past Sunday, we celebrated Youth Sunday with our teens. The youth of our church presented the full service, including singing, dancing, bell-ringing, and skits. The message was also prepared and delivered by one of our seniors. We are blessed at our church to have thriving music and youth programs that present opportunities for our congregation to join in one of the oldest methods of prayer, song. All the young people who participated this weekend should be incredibly proud of themselves, as we are of them. Click or scroll over the image below to see the artist’s design for the window.
