Each Wednesday in Lent until Holy Week, we will have a potluck supper in Pierson Hall at 6:15 (bring one item to share plus table service), followed by a program from 7:00 to 8:00. This year we are resuming our popular series called “Missions that Make a Difference,” which features a different speaker each week talking about a local mission project or agency that is making a difference in our community. Our program this week is on the Women’s Recovery Center in Kent.
The Women’s Recovery Center is a new and exciting initiative in our county, unique in its vision and methods. Located in a newly renovated apartment building in the Silver Meadows neighborhood of Kent, it offers both court-ordered and self-initiated recovery opportunities for women suffering from addiction with no generic, predetermined time limits. Please join us for more information from speaker Cheryl Stahl on this unique community effort.
