Pursuing Justice: learning from, standing with, and acting alongside individuals and communities who are especially vulnerable, ignored, mistreated, or exploited. In 2025,

I will pray for a renewed awareness of God’s creatures in our neighbor and in our worldwho are especially vulnerable and for resources that I can share to “close the gaps” that exist among us.

I will participate in book studies, small groups, classes, and other opportunities to listen to perspectives and life experiences that are new to me and different from my own.

I will participate in advocacy opportunities, speaking out regarding social justice issues as a follower of Jesus Christ.

Practicing Kindness and Mercy in every interaction, even and especially with those with whom I disagree. In 2025,

I will pray for openness to receive opinions and perspectives that are different from myown. I will pray for courage to have “sacred and courageous conversations,” i.e. hard conversations about issues that really matter.

I will build habits that cultivate gratitude and generosity, e.g. worshiping regularly with the community of faith; giving generously of my time and finances with no expectation of “return”; practicing one to five intentional acts of kindness every week; participating in service projects together with the community of faith.

I will participate in or help lead a ministry that expresses care especially for neighbors experiencing food or shelter insecurity or other mission and outreach opportunities.

Walking Humbly with God, surrendering my will to God’s will, deliberately re-connecting my life with God’s life and with the life of God’s very good creation. In 2025,

I will pray for the grace to acknowledge that I may not always be “right,” and that’sokay, because I am—and everyone else is—always loved.

I will cultivate habits of humility, respect, and empathy through intentional practices of being “quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to grow angry” (James 1.19).

I will participate in small groups, worship services, and mission/outreach opportunities to practice self-giving servanthood (cf. Mark 10.45) and grow in my awareness of God’s presence in my life and in the lives of others.
