Crisis Counsels from the Scriptures #70

Our reflections this week in Crisis Counsels are based on these two verses in the book of Isaiah –

The Lord is exalted; he lives on high, filling Zion with justice and righteousness. God will provide security during a lifetime: a source of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. Reverence for the Lord will be Zion’s treasure.

Isaiah 33:5–6

Isaiah says that God is “a source of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge.” The Hebrew word translated here as “a source of” literally means a “rich store” of something. God abundantly gives salvation and wisdom and knowledge! Note that God is not described as the source of what people so often seek today, namely wealth and power and fame. God is the source of salvation and wisdom and knowledge. It is these things that we should seek, and that we will find in great abundance when we are in connection with God.

Prayer – Lead us, O Lord, to seek You, that we may receive the gifts of great value that You bestow in abundance. Share on X
