Today’s window is Chapel Window 3—The Carpenter’s Shop. The third chapel window begins above with God’s creation of the sun and the moon. Below that we see the Holy Family at work in the carpenter shop of Joseph. Reflecting that, the lowest section of the window displays the occupations of men. We see metaphorical imagery, including a lighted lamp on the left, symbolizing education; in the middle, scales symbolizing justice; and on the right, a rocket symbolizing the space age. America was still 4 years from landing on the moon when these windows were designed. There are also a scientist and musician pictured.
