Welcome to the first Windows Wednesday! The first window in the Chapel sits over the door. As all upper portions of the chapel windows, the Hand of God window represents the Father, providing a visual blessing to worshipers as they enter and as they leave. Note the curving lines to each side. These represent prayers rising to heaven as smoke rises from incense. Scroll over or tap the image of the window below to see the original artist’s design.
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve me against the wrath of my enemies; you stretch out your hand, and your right hand delivers me.” Psalm 138:7
“Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice.” Psalm 141:2
