Adult Spiritual Growth

Adults in our church have numerous opportunities to grow in their walk with Christ. These include:

University of Life

The "University of Life" is a series of course offerings for adults, arranged in six-week terms, on Sunday mornings during the academic year. Courses cover all different areas of Christian living; there are classes on Bible study, parenting, communication, ethical issues, world religions, and various other subjects. Classes meet from 9:30 to 10:15 on Sunday mornings; child care is offered.

Disciple Bible Study

Disciple I, led by our senior pastor, is an intensive experience that takes participants through the entire Bible in 34 weeks. For those who have completed Disciple I, there are advanced Disciple courses that provide a more in-depth exploration of various parts of the Bible.

Wesley Groups

Wesley Groups" are small-group Bible studies that meet usually twice a month in participants' homes. They are patterned after the approach of Methodist founder John Wesley, who believed that people especially grow in faith as they come together with other Christians to share in applying God's Word to daily living.

Alpha

Alpha is a course in Christian belief that had its start in England and now has spread world-wide. Participants come together once a week during eleven weeks for an evening meal, followed by a video presentation and discussion. Alpha is an opportunity to explore questions about Christian faith in a relaxed setting. Our Alpha course is accompanied by a children's program called "Alphabits."

Companions in Christ

Companions in Christ is a small-group journey in spiritual formation, using daily readings and a weekly gathering over a 28 week period.

Wednesday Lenten Series

On Wednesday evenings during Lent, we have a series of potluck suppers followed by topical presentations for adults.
